History

Lorelei Travis was a mutant with prehensile hair. She was an exotic dancer at mob leader Daniel Kaufman's Wildkat Klub in the district of New York City commonly referred to as Mutant Town. Constantly exposed to the harassment of rivaling mutant gangs, bigoted humans and capricious members of the police, Lorelei Travis nonetheless managed to become one of the Wildkat Klub's household names through the artistic use of her genetic mutation. During an investigation into Kaufman's businesses by Special Agent Bishop and Detective Ismael Ortega, Lorelei survived a bombing of the Wildkat Klub perpetrated by Kaufman's enemies, sustaining minor injuries.

Lorelei was one of the few mutants to retain her powers after the effects of M-Day. A group of militant Purity members cut all of her hair out. Unlikely help came in the form of Toad who, after saving her, escorted her to the Xavier Institute to join the other members remaining mutants. Her hair was restored by the healing powers of Mister M, who she started a relationship with not long after. Lorelei was present at Mister M's death.

Utopia

During San Fransisco riots, Hellion, Lorelei, Jeremiah Muldoon, Solar, Adam X, Match and Avalanche met in this last's bar and choose to oppose to the H.A.M.M.E.R curfew.

They were all stopped and jailed by the Dark X-Men and H.A.M.M.E.R agents.

Hair Manipulation: Lorelei has prehensile hair, which gives her mental control over it. Her hair is especially lengthy and tends to be quite animated. Lorelei will generally use her power for more creative pursuit, as it seems impractical for anything more confrontational, since it doesn't seem to be especially durable. She can also cause it to grow at a highly accelerated rate.
