Lorna Dane had been a member of the X-Men along side her boyfriend Iceman, though they eventually left to pursue a normal life. However, Polaris left Iceman and became member of X-Factor and fell in love with Havok (Alex Summers).

Later, she aided Beast, Magneto, Forge, Warlock and Amelia Voght in fighting the extraterrestrial Phalanx Empire.
