Loughridge and his colleague Proctor were scientists with big black marks on their careers who were assigned to study the Venom symbiote's clone. Frustrated with the lack of progress with their research - which had been sabotaged - Loughridge was present when Proctor contacted their boss Bob for permission to obtain a tissue sample of the symbiote. Bob unleashed the symbiote, which bonded to Loughridge and killed him and the other researchers at the base.[1]
