History

Louis Wyler (Earth-760207) from Spider-Man The New Animated Series 002
As revealed in newspaper clippings, Louis Wyler was a former NASA engineer who began work on a Attraction/Repulsion spacesuit. At some point, Wyler began to steal parts from NASA and faced public scrutiny for his spacesuit invention, with the government in particular labeling it a hoax. Eventually Wyler was fired for his theft and was forced to cancel his A/R spacesuit project eventually becoming a custodian for Empire State University, and took to living in Villeroy Towers. Wyler managed to keep the spacesuit for himself and had had developed a turbo jet technology on it that allowed him to commit various robberies and steal a ruby from the Manhattan Museum of Art, while Peter Parker was taking pictures for the Daily Bugle. Wyler sold the ruby to a gangster who gave him $1,000,000 that had been re-taken by Spider-Man. While the city had considered Turbo Jet a hero, he considered the city weak for not doing these things themselves. Wyler later attempted to steal a Galileo telescope but the museum had been tipped off by Spider-Man and had replaced it with a fake. Out of anger, Louis kidnapped Mary Jane Watson but had been stopped when Spider-Man pulled down his speed control lever. He is presumably in prison.[1]
