Lucas Cage (Earth-54230) from Timeless Vol 3 1 cover

After the White Sky Event devastated Earth, Luke Cage was one of the few survivors. He received the power of the Sentry and the Void, the Hulk's blood, and stole the Iron Fist from his former friend, Danny Rand. After decades of wandering, he returned to New York City, where Danny's master Khonshu had built a machine to consume humanity and time itself. He destroyed the machine and fought Rand, now the Immortal Moon Knight. He killed Danny, only for Khonshu to emerge from the body and attempt the sacrifice with his own power. Narrowly killing Khonshu with the power of Shou-Lao, Power Man was caught in the timestream and sent to Earth-616, floating near Jupiter.[1]

Realizing he was in the past, Luke went to Earth to ensure his future didn't come to pass. Luckily, but sadly, he saw his future had already been averted when he saw that Danny had just died. Upon seeing this Cage left and went back to space. There he came across Aeon the Knife, one of the most powerful Inhumans who sought to kill any powerful being he could find. As Cage was extremely powerful, Aeon slayed him, but he was revived shortly after by the Green Door, albeit knocked out. Cage found himself under the care of a woman called the Eversight, who was subservient to the Celestial Heart, a part the consciousness of the Sol system floating above Jupiter. Ever told him how the System had plucked her from Earth in the past, prompting Luke to accuse the Celestial consciousness how stealing her life.[2]

Soon Aeon returned and destroyed the Heart as part of his quest. Again Cage fought him, which led Aeon to push Mercury into the Sun. Cage punched the planet back into its orbit, but this caused a crack to form, revealing the Heart's counterpart: the Celestial Mind.[3] The Mind feared Cage's power and attempted to convince Ever to help it take him down. Meanwhile, Luke noticed that Aeon had made his way to Mars and began slaughtering its mutant population to prove his superior strength. Luke came to an injuried Apocalypse's side, and together worked to fight against Aeon. However during the fight, Aeon split the Void from Cage's body.[4]

Now unleashed, the Void went to eat the sun, forcing Luke to chase after him. The two fought, with the Void tormenting by taking the appearance of his dead loved ones. Cage fought through it and announced that this would be the last time the Void would threaten reality, as the Void wasn't some cosmic being or even alive, but simply a manifestation of his weakest part. With that the Void lost his power, allowing Cage to dispersed it into the vacuum of space. Before he could regain his energies, Luke was immediately confronted by the reassembled System, merged with Ever in its mind.

Cage was able to release Ever from the Celestial Mind by talking to her inner humanity, and went inside the System. He used his powers to kill the Celestial and fused with it, transforming into a Celestial himself. With this newfound power, transported Ever to Earth where she could regain her stolen life and live like a normal human. Cage then appeared above Earth's surface where he saw Aeon fighting New York's heroes in an attempt to kill them. Luke brought Aeon to him and with a swift punch completely disintegrated the mad Inhuman. As one of the most powerful beings in the universe, Luke decided to become the guardian of the Sol system.[5]
