M'Butu was a guard at the Wakandan Embassy in New York City when T'Challa held a gala. During the event Felicia Hardy and Johnny Storm to see the Headdress of T'Chambwe which Felicia wanted to steal. While showing the mask, she pointed out that an unknown guard was nearby and M'Butu left to persue them.[1]
