Magus brainwashed people into his cult Universal Church of Truth with his "Holy Gem", which he wore on his forehead. The gem also enabled him to fire energy blasts from it. After being banished from Queens by Spider-Punk, Hulk and MC Strange, they attempted to spread to Bronx, only to be stopped by Spider-Man and Spider-Punk.[1]
