History
Mantis, along with the other Guardians of the Galaxy members, raided the Templeship New Sirius after she had a vision that the Silver Surfer was being held there and was the key to defeating Galactus and the Universal Church of Truth. Unfortunately her dementia caused her to misinterpret the vision and in fact Norrin simply knew what and where the key to defeating them was located.
Pinned down by the Imperial Guard and unable to escape, Mantis then gave her life to buy Rocket time to send a message to Star-Lord informing him of the Ultimate Nullifier's location on Earth.[1]
Receiving the message above the dead world of Spartax, Quill could not cope with the loss of his lifelong friends and instead hallucinated that they came to get him and accompanied him on one last mission, instead of the reality that he ventured to Earth on his own.[2]
