History
The Kree Empire led by the Supreme Intelligence found that the body of Norman Osborn was enhanced with Skrull genes and decided to send an agent to infiltrate humanity. They created a clone of disgraced Kree hero Mar-Vell hybridized with the DNA of Spider-Gwen,[1] and upon giving her the Nega-Bands sent her to act as a hero and gain the public's trust. Through the Nega-Bands, she was sharing her body with Gwen Jones.[2]
When she went to fight Yon-Rogg, she was confronted by the Terminal Six. Nightbird revealed to Captain Marvel her true purpose: she was sent not to be a hero for the people of Earth but to infiltrate it, making them love and gain their trust only to spearhead to total destruction of the planet later. This revelation shocked Captain Marvel, making her disobey Supremor's orders. As punishment for her disobedience, the Supreme Intelligence had Captain Marvel's Nega-Bands overcharge and explode. Realizing what needed to be done and apologizing to Gwen Jones, Captain Marvel flew high up into the air to save as many people from the blast as she could. Unfortunately, it as not enough, and the explosion still devastated New York City.[2]Paraphernalia
