History
A defector from the Kree Empire, Mar-Vell came to planet C-53 to help a group of Skrull refugees escape genocide and to help them find a new home. Assuming the name "Wendy Lawson," she joined the United States Air Force and became a member of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., which sought to harness the power of the Tesseract. Mar-Vell used it to develop a revolutionary engine that would help the Skrulls escape the reach of the Kree, but before she could use it to relocate the group that was hiding on her cloaked orbital laboratory, her activities were uncovered by the Starforce. During Mar-Vell's test flight with captain Carol Danvers, their craft was shot down by Yon-Rogg, who then executed Mar-Vell before Danvers' eyes.[1]
Notes
- Annette Bening portrays Mar-Vell in 2019 film Captain Marvel.
