Boomslang[source]

History

Captain America[]

Australian criminal Boomslang was ordered by the Viper (Madame Hydra) to infiltrate the Serpent Society. While not a particularly ruthless villain, Boomslang had an incredible throwing arm and excellent hand-to-hand combat skills, which made him a formidable opponent for the likes of Captain America.[1]

During his first mission, Boomslang joined Cobra and Copperhead as they poisoned Washington, D.C.'s water supply, turning the citizens into horrifying snake-like creatures. He and Copperhead were quickly dispatched by Captain America, but Cobra managed to escape.[2]

During a mission that set the Serpent Society against the X-Men, Boomslang battled Wolverine.[3]

Boomslang continued to serve with the Society, but when he was sent to spy on Diamondback, he was confronted by Captain America. Boomslang quickly fled, but ran into a gang of teenage thugs. The gang shot Boomslang numerous times, and Captain America immediately took him to the hospital.[4]

Having survived his gunshot wounds, Boomslang returned to a life of crime, attending an A.I.M. Weapons Expo.[5]

Boomslang was not seen for several years. However, he resurfaced with the Serpent Society when the original Viper took over leadership and rebranded the organization as Serpent Solutions. With Serpent Solutions, Boomslang fought the new Captain America and Falcon.[6] He later joined Baron Helmut Zemo's Army of Evil during Secret Empire.[7]

Alongside other Serpent Society members, Boomslang was hired by Constrictor (unbeknownst to the Society, actually Frank Payne's son) to help steal Iron Fist's Book of the Iron Fist. The Serpent Society then clashed with Iron Fist, Sabretooth, Choshin, and Choshin's henchmen.[8]

Hunted[]

Boomslang was among several animal-themed super-villains captured by Taskmaster and Black Ant to serve as hunting targets for Kraven the Hunter and Arcade.[9] Boomslang was presumably apprehended alongside other Serpent Society members who had been captured when the force field keeping the villains inside Central Park went down.[10]

Criminal Technology Show Expo[]

Boomslang, with several other members of the Serpent Society, attended the Criminal Technology Show Expo. Boomslang and his teammates went to the restroom where they were ambushed by M.O.D.O.K. and beaten to near death. Iron Man, working with M.O.D.O.K., suggested they hide the villains before they regain consciousness. King Cobra later discovered them and alerted the rest of the supervillains of M.O.D.O.K.'s and Iron Man's presence.[11]

Devil's Reign[]

At some point, Boomslang was imprisoned in the super-criminal private prison known as the Myrmidon. Boomslang participated in a combat tournament held by the prison guards. His first opponent was Moon Knight, who quickly defeated Boomslang.[12]

Serpent's Tears[]

Boomslang, along with the rest of the reorganized Serpent Society, were tasked by Viper, who renamed himself Pit Viper, to gather components for the return of Mephisto.[13] During an argument with new recruit Tiger Snake, Boomslang was apparently crushed to death by Pit Viper's latest recruit Titanoboa.[14] However he later showed up alive and joined the Serpent Society's final heist at Attania.[15]
