History

In a alternate universe, Peggy Carter declined to retreat to a viewing booth as Steve Rogers was being prepared for his Super-Soldier transformation. Hydra agent Heinz Kruger detonated an explosive device that injured Rogers and killed several others. Peggy killed a fleeing Heinz, and then hastily volunteered to undergo the experiment in Steve's place, becoming the first to successfully become a Super-Soldier. She was given the rank of Captain and donned the colors of the Union Jack before leading the Allied forces against Hydra as Captain Carter. On her first mission, she successfully retrieved the Tesseract from Red Skull. During a later mission, Captain Carter sacrificed herself to stop the Champion of Hydra by going through a wormhole from which she emerged almost seventy years later. There, she was recruited first by Nick Fury to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and then later by the Watcher to help stop Ultron from destroying the multiverse.
