History
Maria Lowe was the illegal spouse of Hydra Agent James Harper.
After discovering that James worked for Hydra, she confronted her husband and the two had an argument that resulted in them separating.
She subsequently moved into her sister, Martha's, Hell's Kitchen home until she emotionally recovered. When members of her community, Forest Hills', neighborhood watch came looking for her, she revealed what happened and told them that James worked out of Red Hook.[1]Trivia
