History
Maria Taina Elizando was an incurably ill child who was a big fan of Spider-Man. When he visited her at the Wish Come True Foundation for Terminally Ill Children after a request from her parents, he explained his origin to her; how he gained his powers and became a crimefighter. When he took her on a quick trip web-slinging, he was ambushed by Doctor Octopus, but Taina managed to escape.[1] She enlisted the help of a cab driver named Mousie after Spider-Man was brainwashed by Doc Ock. Spider-Man captured Mousie and Dock Ock was about to kill her when Taina drove Mousie's cab through a wall, knocking Octopus down. Taina then took control of the Octobot and captured him. Afterward, Spider-Man acquiesced to her request to reveal his secret identity and unmasked in front of her. She recognized him as Peter Parker and promised to keep his secret for the rest of her life.[2]

- Stephanie Eustase voices Taina Elizando in the Spider-Man episodes "Make a Wish" and "Attack of the Octobot".
- Taina Elizando is an adaptation of Tim Harrison from Amazing Spider-Man #248, a similarly terminally-ill child who wishes to meet Spider-Man in person. In "Make a Wish," Taina mentions a friend named Timmy who might have been a reference to Harrison.
