History
Maria Taina Elizando was a terminally ill child who was a big fan of Spider-Man. When he visited her after a request from her parents, he explained his origin to her; how he gained his powers and became a crimefighter. When he took her on a quick trip web-slinging, he was ambushed by Doctor Octopus, but Taina managed to escape. She enlisted the help of a cab driver named Mousie, and they were able to save Spider-Man after he was brainwashed by Doc Ock. Taina took control of the Octobot to defeat Ock.
Notes
- The character was voiced by Stephanie Eustase in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
- In the original comic story 'The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man', it wasn't a girl named Taina who met Spider-Man. It was a boy named Tim Harrison, who was dying from leukemia. His last wish was to meet Spider-Man in person.
- Taina mentioned a friend named Timmy who may have been a subtle reference to this character.
