History
Mariana Torres came to the United States from Mexico with her daughter and her grandson Joaquín when he was six years old. They lived in Sonoita, Arizona.[1] When he grew up, Joaquín went on to help people cross the Mexican-American border, namely by leaving water, food, and medicine hidden in the desert for the people trying to cross.
Following Joaquín's disappearance at the hands of the Sons of the Serpent, Mariana contacted the Captain America Hotline to ask for help, since the local police told her it was an issue for border patrol, but she didn't believe they would help her.[2] After rescuing Joaquín, Captain America contacted Mariana to give her the good news.[3]See Also
