Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He was best known for advancing civil rights through nonviolence and civil disobedience, tactics his Christian beliefs and the nonviolent activism of Mahatma Gandhi helped inspire.

History

Civil Rights Movement[]

He was a leading member in the civil right movement fighting for the rights of African Americans in the US. His work inspired many including the Skrull world of Kral IV where a faction based their lives on the civil right movement being transmitted from Earth. One of the Skrull even based his identity of King.[1]

Leonard Gary joined various sit-ins, marching with King.[2]

In 1963 King helped organize the March on Washington, where he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. A quarter of a million Americans were there filling the Mall. The speech lasted 17 minutes and was considered one of the greatest speeches of all time changing the world in the process.[3]
