History
Dr. Martin Sutter was a part of the original Weapon X program and was the head of the Facility project that created X-23. He was friends with Dale Rice, father of Zander Rice, who was killed by Logan during his escape from the Weapon X Facility. He hired Dr. Sarah Kinney to clone Logan after numerous specimens did not survive the Weapon X procedure. He was married to Rachel Sutter; however, she was having an affair with Zander,[1] which led to her having a child. Unaware of the affair, Rachel told Martin that Henry was his at the request of Zander.[2]
Things started to get complicated with the project when Zander left X-23 behind on a mission claiming she didn't make the rendezvous after being killed by A.I.M.,[3] Dr. Kinney took X-23 out to find her missing niece, and they began work on phase two, the creation of X-24 through X-50 embryos. Using the pretense of being worried about the effects of the stress on Dr. Sutter's health, Zander convinced him to sign the project over to him. After Dr. Sutter signed it and went home, Zander gave X-23 the orders to kill him, his wife, and his son, but to make it look like an accidental fire.[4] While Zander was giving his orders to X-23, inside the house Rachel was confessing her affair to Martin. He became very angry, but before he could do much X-23 crashed through the window and killed them both.[5]Personality
Martin was cold and emotionless except when seen with Zander whom he viewed as a son.[4]
