THE ROAD TO CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR BEGINS WITH THESE OFFICIAL ADAPTATIONS OF THE SMASH HIT FILMS IRON MAN 3 & CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER!
• When THE MANDARIN strikes at the United States with a series of deadly terror attacks, IRON MAN must take action! But can TONY STARK handle the pressure when he has his own demons to face?Notes
- This comic is an adaptation of the first act of Iron Man 3, from the beginning of the movie up until Pepper Potts and Maya Hansen are forced to leave Tony behind in his collapsing mansion.
- Because this comic is an abridged adaptation of the movie, certain elements were changed or simply omitted, for example:
- The flashback scene in Bern begins with Aldrich Killian meeting Tony Stark in the elevator. Instead of Happy causing Maya's Extremis test subject plant to explode, Maya simply shows Tony the plant already having exploded when he tells him about the "glitch" in Extremis.
- The different parts of the MK XLII do not fly to their target in the form of pods that extend and take shape of their respective section of the suit. When testing the MK XLII, Tony doesn't even get to wear the suit as the test finishes because all of the parts of the suit fly so fast they knock him out.
- Happy doesn't videocall Tony while Pepper is meeting up with Aldrich Killian, and he simply decides to follow Eric Savin because he looks "shifty."
- Tony isn't shown investigating the Mandarin's attacks.
- Pepper's giant stuffed gift toy simply appears in Stark's hall, without introduction.
- Maya Hansen doesn't alert Tony of the upcoming missile about to hit his mansion by watching the TV.
