Synopsis for "Knights in Black Helmets"

Rocket Raccoon finds a way to track J'son and Sam Alexander using Star-Lord's element blaster. The signal leads the Guardians of the Galaxy to a space-whale, which eventually devours the Milano. When they still pick up the signal from J'son's element blaster, they realize the space-whale must have eaten him and Sam, too. After fighting off the parasites that live in the space-whale's stomach, the Guardians find J'son's element blaster in an old Nova Centurion ship the whale also ate. They're ambushed by J'son and Mantis. Sam traps the Guardians under rubble rather than vaporize them with his helmet's powers. When they dig themselves out, they find J'son used the ship's computers to find the many Centurion helmets still stored in the ship's armory. Rocket attracts the space-whale's parasites to the ship, and then fights J'son in the armory. During the fight, Jesse loses briefly loses control over the helmet's power and badly hurts Rocket. Sam uses his powers to hold the Guardians in stasis rather than kill them. J'son asks Sam to use the helmet to find the real Centurion helmets hidden among the several fakes, and triggers a hologram of Thanos fighting his father for Warlock's cocoon. Mantis tries to find a real helmet when Sam refuses to, but the helmet is one of the fakes and kills her when J'son puts it on her head. J'son threatens to place the fake on Star-Lord's head unless Sam gives him one of the real helmets. With no other choice, Sam gives him one, granting J'son the powers of a Nova Centurion. Sam and the Guardians of the Galaxy work together to defeat J'son. Before they can take the helmet away from him, J'son escapes with the other Centurion helmets. The Guardians and Sam follow after him, but are ambushed again by the parasites. They use the Milano's thrusters to force the space-whale to throw them up. Star-Lord decides the Guardians will help Sam find his powers. They'll need his help when they run into J'son.
