Synopsis
Max lets Peter Parker leave early so he can tutor Flash Thompson when he's ambushed by a hulking creature wearing the V-252. Spider-Man narrowly defeats the monster, which he dubs "Venom," by assaulting the symbiote with the sounds of car alarms. Peter thinks the V-252 might have broken free at the Avengers Compound and bonded to Tony Stark, but Max confirms that Stark is in outer space with the Avengers. However, this only leads him to believe a piece of the V-252 might have bonded to Max while he was studying it after Flash's science teacher Mr. Salerno - who has a grudge against Horizon for taking away most of Midtown's best students - says he was attacked by the Venom monster. Peter goes to Flash's big game against Truman High to celebrate Flash passing his science test. When Truman's star quarterback can't play because he too was attacked by Venom, Peter begins to realize that the V-252 bonded to Flash at the Stark Expo. Flash transforms into Venom when he's tackled. Spider-Man uses an airhorn to force the symbiote to detach from Flash, but pieces of it bond to players from Truman's team. Flash gathers the school's fire extinguishers so he and Spider-Man can use them to freeze the symbiotes off the players. Spider-Man, Flash, Max, and Mr. Salerno carefully gather the pieces of the V-252 so they cannot bond to anyone else. Later, Peter Parker goes to Midtown to check on Flash, and his former bully protects him from new ones as a thanks for helping him pass the test so he could save Spider-Man for the second time.
