Synopsis
Joanna Forge, Emma Frost, and Cora succeed in taking over Brandon Best's radio network. Emma addresses the people of the Wastelands over the network and tells them the truth about the hunt for the Black Vortex. In the fight against Kraven, Rocket sacrifices himself to save Quill. Kraven reaches the Black Vortex first and walks through it, but due to his ego, he’s unable to submit to it, and it tears him apart. The Collector shows up and takes the Black Vortex, then gives Quill a Flora Colossus seed in payment. Meanwhile, Joanna Forge leads the people of Doomwood in revolution, taking Doom’s Compound and destroying it and killing a man who they think is Doom.
In the final scene, Cora finds the real Doom, who had been locked away in a cell beneath the throne for years by Brandon Best, with a power inhibitor. Cora spirits Doom away so that Emma can’t sense him. Doom admits that the Chamberlain Reactor's meltdown (and subsequently, all the radiation in the Wastelands) was his mistake. He knew none of the villains could kill the Hulk, so in an effort to prevent Bruce Banner from returning, Doom dropped the Hulk into the reactor to overload him with radiation. Doom was injured in the aftermath, and Brandon Best found him and took advantage of the situation to impersonate Doom all this time.
Cora reveals to Doom that she was ordered by the Rigellians to ally herself with either Doom, Zemo, or the Red Skull. She offers to be Doom's assistant and chronicler to prepare Earth for the coming invasion.Notes
