History

This series was originally announced to be part of a slate of series for Hulu, including ones based on Hit-Monkey, Tigra and the Dazzler, and Howard the Duck, which would've culminated in a crossover series titled The Offenders. While this series and Marvel's Hit-Monkey moved ahead, the rest were scrapped.[1]

The May 21, 2021 release date for this series was announced on February 25, 2021.[2]

In May 8, 2021, Jordan Blum revealed that he was allowed to pick up the official number for the universe the series was set in, choosing 12/26 after his son's birthday. That would make the series be set in Earth-1226.[3]

On April 27, 2021, Jordan Blum revealed that a second season for this series was planned.[4]

On January 11, 2022, during their TCA presentation, Hulu's head of content Craig Erwich stated that it would be up to Marvel Studios, and not Hulu themselves, if this series and Marvel's Hit-Monkey would be renewed for additional seasons or not.[5]

On May 13, 2022, Variety reported that Hulu had cancelled this series after one season.[6]

Trivia

  • Paste-Pot Pete and the Stilt-Man were intended to appear in the series, the latter as the bartender at the Bar with No Name, using his stilts to reach the top shelf liquor. Their use was denied by Marvel's legal team.[7]
