Synopsis for "Elements of Terror (Part 10) - Freedom Fighters"
In Florida, Ditillio, Zahner and Marea phone Ditillio's editor Ed Toomey to tell the story; Marea and Zahner are sources. Toomey then phones Selbert to confirm; Selbert refuses to comment and threatens to sue Toomey, but Selbert then orders his secretary Jina to prepare a flight to Florida, and then destroy any document in his office about the Laverian arms deal.
Dixon flies a plane to Costa Dinora, while in the back, McDonald injects Choate with the serum. While Choate withstands the pain for the cause, McDonald reveals he's in this for the money. When they reach Costa Dinora, Choate has turned into a monstrous super-soldier. He takes six men, apparently Costa Dinoran freedom fighters who volunteered, and orders McDonald to inject the serum while he explains the importance of the anti-communist mission. Choate then murders McDonald for his lack of ideals, then explains that they will go on a "clean-up" mission before travelling to Moscow to end with the "heart of evil". Choate then receives a phone call from Selbert, to warn that Zahner has spilled the beans. Selbert says that he will disappear immediately, but as a last action, he sends his chauffeur Harris to kidnap Ditillio's girlfriend Lyssa as a way to help.
In the swamp, the Man-Thing regenerates; and in the FSSI, Railsback frees himself, even although McDonald had left counter-measures to prevent that.
