Wolverine (Logan) is back in Ottawa after a stint in Madripoor, and is walking down the street, heavily intoxicated, when he is attacked by Wild Child (Kyle Gibney) who appears to be responsible for a rash of local murders. Realizing that Wild Child has lost control, Logan sets about tracking him down.

Iron Man (Tony Stark) hears a distressing news report in the offices of Stark Enterprises California Headquarters, announcing that pro-democracy protesters are going to be executed by a brutal communist dictatorship somewhere in South East Asia. As Iron Man, Tony Stark launches himself into the earth's orbit in an attempt to intervene on behalf of the protesters but arrives too late and they are killed. Shortly thereafter, Stark announces to the press that he is cutting off all business ties with the repressive regimes in the area.
