Synopsis for "The Man Who Wasn't There"

A carnival barker mocks a fortune teller who is leaving the carnival as he can't seem to drum up any customers. The teller gives the barker a couple of size-changing pills which will increase or decrease his size as proof of his abilities. The pills work and the barker decides to put them to use on a crime spree. The police eventually arrest his fence and track him to his apartment. One of the men tells the other to shoot first and ask questions later. They don't see the tiny man hiding behind the chair, but the landlady's cat does. He debates about taking the growth pill since he is afraid he will be shot, but the cat will get him if he doesn't change size. He hesitates too long and the cat strikes. One of the cops notices the cat and mentions it had something in its mouth as it left the room and the other cop says probably just a mouse.
