Synopsis for "Poison Pen!"
When a newspaper columnist attempts to harm a young woman's acting career by bringing up the scandal of her father's suicide, the ghost of the dead man pays the columnist a visit and gives him several tips for stories which turn out to be true. The stories are about tragic events and suspicion begins to mount concerning the columnist. When he attempts to reveal his source, he finds that his tipster has disappeared and his boss fires him. The ghost pays a visit to his sleeping daughter and tells her that she can rest in peace now that he has dealt with the poison pen.

Synopsis for "The Man Who Wasn't"
Charles receives a visitor from the future named Fred. Fred has come back in time because future Earth is overpopulated and a means to escape has been found, but not enough time remains for its development. Fred shows Charles how to build levitation into a toy knowing the principle that powers it will be discovered and developed in time to save future Earth. Having accomplished his mission, Fred vanishes, leaving Charles puzzled until he forgets that he ever had a friend named Fred.
