Synopsis for "With Friends Like These"

Hercules pays a visit to the Avengers to restart his friendly rivalry with Thor with a destructive fight that breaks through the walls of the mansion and onto the streets. Hawkeye calls in Hulk to break them up then the Wasp gets them to work together to clean up the mess they made.

Synopsis for "The Last American Dream"

In the future, a retired Steve Rogers attends the President while the Captain Americorps fights rogue Doombots on the White House lawn. Sleepwalker arrives to inform Rogers that the ideal life he believes to be living is an illusion created by Nightmare in the Dream Realm. Despite the temptations and with Sleepwalker's aid, Captain America gains control of his dream through force of will, defies Nightmare, and manages to wake up, embracing his reality.

Iron Man leaves the Hulks aboard the Avenjet rocket with a control panel filled with green, red, and blue colored buttons and tells them not to touch anything. He's barely off the ship before they've launched it into space.

  • Thor appears in the first story in his Season 1 outfit, though that has also been the case for most other issues in this volume despite the stories taking place later in the series. As such, this could take place either in Season 1, or much later after the series finale when both Thor and Hulk have rejoined the team together.
