Notes

  • The story "Black Homecoming" retold Black Rider's origin story which was originally told in All Winners #2 and expanded in Black Rider #10, expanding the backstory of the Black Rider parents. In this version, Mathew Masters' mother died at childbirth and only his father was killed by Blast Burrows and his gang, when Matthew was 8 years old (not 5 year old like the original tale). The discrepancy of past versions of the location of the final confrontation with Blast Burrows, is explained here as that the fight happened in the Jezabel cabin near Jefferson county. Finally is said that Matthew Masters learned Medicine in Mexico city, not in USA, as is implied in past stories, and this story is his first visit to New York.
  • The story "Black Homecoming" is noted to happens 90 years before the "present", time where Yao is shown teaching both Clea and Dr. Strange. Thanks to Marvel Sliding Timescale, this time would happens in the 1960s, time the stories of Dr. Strange learning from the Ancient One were published and is the time whereis noted to have happened according to handbooks. So, the Black Rider story happens in the 1870s, timeline consistent with the years of his golden age adventures.
