My husband, Peter Parker, was an ordinary person. He always said it could've been anyone behind the mask. He was just the kid who happened to get bit. He didn't ask for his powers, but he chose to be Spider-Man. My favorite thing about Peter is that he made us each feel powerful. We all have powers of one kind or another. But in our own way, we are all Spider-Man. And we're all counting on you.

History
Mary Jane Parker (née Watson) was the wife of Peter Parker. She survived him following his death at the hands of Kingpin. The widowed MJ gave an impassioned speech at his funeral. Days later, MJ was a guest of honor at the Kingpin's gala, ostensibly held in honor of Spider-Man. While there, she encountered Peter B. Parker, an alternate version of her late husband disguised as one of the Spider-Man-themed waiters of the dinner. When she requested bread, the alternate Peter was transfixed by her appearance, due to his troubles with his reality's MJ, and ended up giving her an awkward apology for everything he had done, under the pretense of apologizing for not giving her bread properly, before Gwen Stacy, posing as another waiter, bailed him out.[1]
