History
The early life of Mary Jane Watson largely mirrors that of her Earth-616 counterpart.
Mary Jane Watson was the longtime girlfriend and eventually wife of Peter Parker, better known as Spider-Man. The two had a daughter by the name of May together. Despite her love for her husband, Mary Jane disapproved of him continuing his life as a superhero after the birth of their daughter. Mary Jane was often left caring for their daughter, while her husband was protecting the streets as Spider-Man.[1]
Mary Jane's marriage to Peter was difficult, as Peter's guilt over his first girlfriend Gwen Stacy's death prevented him from loving his new wife fully and freely, though Mary Jane would never become aware of this.[2]
Mary Jane eventually contracted cancer. She would be sick for a long time before finally passing away. Her death, combined with the outing of his secret identity, would finally spell the end for Peter's life as Spider-Man.[2]See Also
