Mary Jane was abducted by the Green Goblin, and trapped in a replica web used to incriminate Spider-Man.
After she was freed from the web, Administrator Potts believed inviting her would boost the Avengers Academy popularity, and with that attract more students, upon consulting Peter Parker for his opinion, she invited her.
Since she had no powers, upon Pepper request Tony Stark created the Iron Spider Armor for her.
With her new fond abilities, and training from Captain America, and Spider-Woman, she helped the heroes defeat the Sinister Six.[1]Paraphernalia
