Mary Wilson was the daughter of John C. Wilson who was the chief of police for the New York City Police Department.[1] Following the return of the Human Torch in 1953, Mary was kidnapped by a Crime Syndicate leader known as the Butcher after the Torch has captured his organization's former chief known as the Crime Boss. The Butcher informed Chief Wilson that he would let Mary go if the Human Torch surrendered. However, the Torch and his partner Toro ended up slaying the Butcher and rescuing Mary, reuniting her with her father.[2][3]
