History
The Matter/Antimatter Converter was a large device that was invented by James Power. Power believed the device would be able to generate near-limitless quantities of energy. Before it was to be tested, a Kymellian named Whitey encountered the Power children and told them that a similar device built by his own people had resulted in the destruction of his home planet. Before dying after an attack by his racial enemy the Snarks, he transferred his innate powers to the Power children turning them into the super-powered Power Pack[1]. The Snarks hoped to weaponize the converter and fearing the destruction of Earth upon testing, the Power Pack snuck into Carmody Research facilities to destroy the machine. After a confrontation with Douglas Carmody and his security personnel, they managed to carry the device away from the facility before dropping it during their flight and causing it to be destroyed upon smashing on the ground.[2]
