Scorpion

History

Maximus Gargan is on the FBI's Most Wanted list, having fled the country before a federal case could be brought up against him for accusations of murder, assault, and racketeering. Those who fear him call Maximus Gargan the Scorpion.[1]

In Mexico, Scorpion became a mob boss and worked with the Prowler. Seeking vengeance on Davis, who stole money from him, Scorpion traveled to New York in search of the Prowler.[2]

Upon arriving in New York City, he began to form a plot to become the city's new Kingpin of Crime. The Prowler discovered his nephew was the new Spider-Man and forced him to defeat the Scorpion in order not to tell his parents the truth.[3]

Attributes

Powers

  • Superhuman Durability: Scorpion possesses very resistant skin. Although not truly invulnerable, he was able to shake off multiple bullet and blade wounds.[4]
  • Superhuman Strength: Scorpion seems to possess strength superior to a normal human. He was able to slam Miles into the floor hard enough to destroy it.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Scorpion healing abilities are far superior to those of a normal human, after being repeatedly stabbed by blades during his battle with Prowler he was completely healed in a few days[4], still they appear to have limits since he can't heal the scar on his face and his right eye.

Abilities

  • Skilled Combatant: Scorpion is a formidable combatant, especially when wielding his bladed chain.

Trivia

  • This interpretation of Scorpion might have been the main influence behind the character as it appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, since both are simply hardened criminals with a face scar and tattoos, as well as a former working relationship with Aaron Davis.
