Mechanohoplites

History

The Mechanohoplites were Voldi robots that guarded the room holding the Heart of the Voldi. They were overridden by the Rigellian Recorder 451 when he proceeded to steal the Heart, so they wouldn't attack him. When a guard caught 451, he saw himself forced to use the override Mechanohoplites to kill the guard.^[1]

Properties

The Mechanohoplites are capable of firing lethal beams and floating above the ground.^[1]

Notes

A hoplite was the most common type of heavily armed foot-soldier in ancient Greece. The Mechanohoplites were designed in a way to lean into the classical Greece set-up of the Voldi.^[2]
