Melinda May shared history with her counterpart from Earth-199999 up until the events leading to the destruction of the Earth. While on Earth-199999 S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to stop the Gravtion, on Earth-TRN676 they failed and the planet was cracked apart.[1]

Melinda May, along with Jemma Simmons, Leo Fitz and Elena Rodriguez survived the immediate destruction of the planet and used Zephyr One to evacuate to the Lighthouse with a small group of the Earth population, where May adopted Robin Hinton, whose mother Polly died in the cataclysm. Robin was an Inhuman who saw the visions of past, future and even alternate realities all mixed together, but having difficulty to differentiate between them. She would often warn of events that would not happen until decades later or speak about long-dead people as if they were present. Despite this, Melinda took care of Robin and the two grew very close to one another.[2]

In the year 2022 the Kree arrived to take over the Lighthouse, and because the Lighthouse systems were failing, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were forced to grudgingly accept their rule. Melinda and ther other surviving S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were forced to change their names to avoid unwanted attention by the Kree. As Robin grew older and were able to concentrate on the present slightly more often, May, who had already been to the future where she witnessed elderly Robin's death, explained to her their special relationship: because of the time travel in their lives they never had to say the final goodbye to each other, as even after one of them passed away, the other would see them again in the earlier point of their life, and so on.[2]
