Aware of the true nature of Warp World and fearing for its safety due to the looming threat of Devondra, M.O.R.D.OC. and his cult attempted to summon Satan for help in saving the world.

Their ritual instead accidentally pulled the long-lost Soldier Supreme from the Dark Dimension. M.O.R.D.OC. attacked Soldier Supreme, accusing him of being a false idol. The recently-arrived sorcerer fended off the attacks, and projected his astral form into M.O.R.D.OC., incapacitating the cult leader. When he did so, Soldier Supreme saw that M.O.R.D.OC.'s body was a vessel containing two souls, that of Baron Mordo and M.O.D.O.K..

After regaining consciousness, M.O.R.D.OC. shared with Soldier Supreme that he had learned the truth, and displaced himself to a dimension of pure magic for safety. He left the Eye of Agamodin in Soldier Supreme's possession, an artifact capable of revealing the true nature of things, and dared Soldier Supreme to turn its gaze on himself.[1]
