History

Mephicthton was a demon, an eldritch and unholy deity revered as the one true god by the cult named the Evolutionaries. Dr. Sarah Kinney and Herbert Wyndham intended to use magic and science to engineer perfect vessels for Mephicthton to inhabit. All of their twenty-two attempts resulted in failure.

Having determined that the flaw in their hybrids was that they were too perfect for Mephicthton, Sarah suggested to birth their twenty-third attempt herself to ensure the vessel possessed humanity. Imbued with the best of their enchantments and enhancements, Laura was born, whom Herbert had trained to become the perfect assassin, Weapon Hex. Seventeen years and six months after her birth, Laura destroyed Elsa Bladestone nad her atheistic extremist Covenant who denied any existence of god, including Mephicthton's. When Laura was eighteen years old, Wyndham decided to prepare the ritual to have her contain Mephicthton. Fearing for Laura's safety, Sarah tried to free her from the cult but she was killed.

Weapon Hex united with her secret younger clone/sister Speed Weasel and tried to escape, but they were intercepted by Wyndham and Laura's handler Hellhound. Hellhound dismemebred Laura and left her for dead while Wyndham prepared to use Gavrill as a vessel instead. Laura pulled herself back together and tried to disrupt the ritual, but Wyndham successfully summoned Mephicthton and it possessed Gavrill. Laura summoned the vengeful spirits of those killed for Wyndham's plans to murder him while she attacked Mephicthton. Weapon Hex's attack severed its bond to Gavrill, causing the deity to vanish.
