Mephisto was visited by Doctor Doom after Doom gained the powers of the Beyonder and used it to gain the Infinity Gems. Doom used the power to retrieve the soul of his mother and strangled the physical form of Mephisto, killing it, but Doom speculated Mephisto would return later.[1]
