History
Mephistopheles was an angel living in Heaven.[1]
According to unconfirmed sources, he was one of the many fallen angels cast out of Heaven,[1] possibly for participating in Lucifer's rebellion.
Some cultures believed the entity now known as the Bete Noir was a demonic being such as Mephistopheles, Beelzebub or Satan.[2]
