Hey, I just wanted to ask since you saw the edit recently made on the Avengers: Endgame page, is there a Batman reference in it? For the life of me, I can't think of where it was.
I didn’t actually put it there, it was User:John.hotmail.com I was just correcting the errors/links they created, but I'm not sure if Batman was actually mentioned since John.hotmail.com seems to be constantly adding false information to a lot of pages.
I've been noticing that too and it certainly seems that way. I can't even think of any slight DC reference in the movie. It's probably best to undo his revision of that for now.
Hi! This is roughly the same message I sent Annabelle, but I wanted to talk to you too since it's a lot of your work I just undid (for the moment).
Anyway, when it was decided to create Earth-TRN588 as the new 2099 universe, it took a lot of discussion and a lot of people to make the change. I assume it then took a while to create all the pages for TRN588 characters and things. I just don't think all that should simply be undone and reverted back to Earth-928 without a big discussion like last time. On Miguel O'Hara (Earth-928)'s talk page there are various reasons as to why the change was made, more than the singular argument of the Manifest Destiny series. I don't need to get into my thoughts on the debate here in this message, but I just think it's only fair if it's at least discussed first. I don't want to seem either like a stickler or a jackass troll, I'm just trying to be fair here, so I hope I'm coming across as such.
Saw everyone's responses sorry bro didn't mean to troll, just was trying to respect everyone's decisions from 3 years ago, but since I see now that they've changed, I'll undo everything rn.
Please only use No Image, if there is actually no image, so usually that is for mentions or text story only, I've seen a couple that have multiple appearances or even images from covers that you have used this for
Sorry I don't fully understand, 'Use No Image"? Plus I mostly did this because on the disambiguation pages, they wouldn't appear with the no image team.jpg.
Couple of things, conventionally we seem to leave links as they and change them as we find if we know the page is going to definitely be moved. In this case, since nobody has objected its likely going to be moved. No it does not automatically change, and a redirect will be left behind, however (and I cannot stress this enough) most if not all links should be changed when a page is moved to ensure that categories and images are correctly linked, since categories do not take into account redirects and so won't get moved into the right place and link to a different page. And how they are decided is if there is no issue with the move its either as an admod finds it and decides to move it. Or waiting for the bot to do it in the case of big moves,
But when there are no issues in moving a page, can anyone change their appearances in whatever media they're from or would that be best left to an admod?
If its one we are in the process of moving or will definitely 100% move soon, I'd say if it was fine, If not I'd leave it since there are a couple of instance where we changed our mind and stopped a move (Yahweh is the biggest example). In this case since I don't know enough about the Shadow King and whether the multiversal aspect is a) true and b) going to stay true, I'd air on the side of caution and wait
Plz stop changing them for the X Men too
Love waffle said they would leave redirects when it is moved and rn we have a ton of redlinks on numerous pages
This is something I have been wondering, cause when a page is definitely to be moved, it seems as though it only matters when an admin or a moderator changes the links, but when a regular wiki editor changes the links, nothing is done about the pages.
It was added by AnnabellRice, and your right, pretty sure an admin moves a page when they have the time. But for "X-Men (Earth-TRN240)," very nearly all of the links have been moved from [(Earth-TRN240)] to [(Time-Displaced) (Earth-616)]. So at this point, after the last few links have been changed, an admin could move it without having to leave a redirect.
So, I saw that you recently made a new TRN, and I was wondering if you need any help with that, as I am also setting up a bunch of pages for a TRN. (Earth-TRN743)
Please, whenever you upload a new image, be sure to follow these three simple steps:
1) Be sure the image name acts in accordance with our site's Naming Conventions.
2) Once the image is uploaded, please don't forget licensing.
If you uploaded it through the Special:Upload function, make use of the "Licensing (Required)" dropdown feature before clicking "Upload File," and choose the apropriate type of licensing. "A single panel of a character," "A regular comic book cover" and "Movie screenshot" are some of the most common options.
If you uploaded it through the "Add a photo to this gallery" function on the bottom of galleries, or you didn't select any licensing option in the dropdown feature of Special:Upload, you'll have to add the licensing manually. Go to the uploaded image and click "Edit," you'll see two rows of buttons to insert templates or format functions. Click on the button that has a single polaroid photograph on it (found in the bottom row), and the template will be added. Be sure to fill in the "License" field with the respective license. Most common licenses are "Comic Single Panel," "Comic Cover," "TV Screenshot" and "Movie Screenshot." If the licensing you added is not valid, the image will still appear as unlicensed.
3) Whether the image template with licensing has been added automatically or has been inserted manually on the image, please be sure to fill in the respective fields there are, including "Source," "Universe," "Subject#," etc. to help sort it out.
I finished the page for Strikeforce #1 but you came in and messed with it which resulted in loosing all the information that I complied. Please not do that again. You rushed the page it was being handled.
Nothing is lost unless you navigate away from the page yourself. In the future, when the edit conflict page pops up, just scroll down to recover your edit from the secondary edit field.
Hi. I read one of the handbooks and it said that Wanda and Pietro Maximoff's father is Magento. If there is an update information about their dad is not Magento, could you explain to me the reason why their dad is not Magento?
It was revealed during the AXIS storyline, in Avengers & X-Men: AXIS #7 where Wanda cast a spell to hurt to those related to her by blood, but Magneto wasn't affected, revealing the truth that he was not their father. Their true father at the moment remains a mystery, but Marvel could easily reverse this at anytime and re-establish Magneto's status as their father, but until then we should stick with the latest facts given to us.
So... yeah. I've noticed you making a lot of changes to the Powers and Abilities sections of characters, and so have I. But the thing is, we have different formats for it. So, should we discus it? I think my format is simpler and easier, but just let me know if we should do it your way, I'm fine with that also.
It's: (I removed extra brackets so it doesn't link)
Seemingly [character name#Power or #Abilities|those] of his/her(depending on gender) [Earth-(depends on the main character's earth)] [character name|counterpart]
I see your point, it's just that most other character pages I have seen tend to be written as (Seemingly Those of Peter Parker of Earth-616) or (Seemingly those of Peter Parker of Earth-616. Sometimes it might be written as "the peter parker of Earth-616".
Yes, but I've been slowly correcting these. I think my way is easier, plus you get a link to the Earth-InsertNumberHere page, which might help if you don't know what it is.
That I get, Which is why I stuck with the (Seemingly Those of Peter Parker of Earth-616) format as both the character and the universe have a link each.
I also just remembered that that format may also be better due to some characters having different names compared to other versions such as bullseye (lester) and benjamin pointdexter or Wade Wilson and Wadey Wilson of Earth-1610.
The established format for genetic Powers and Abilities sections of alternate characters is:
Seemingly [[Reed Richards (Earth-616)#Powers|those]] of the [[Reed Richards (Earth-616)|Reed Richards of Earth-616]].
In the case of characters from the same reality (like clones, doppelgangers, or power copycats):
Seemingly [[Reed Richards (Earth-616)#Powers|those]] of [[Reed Richards (Earth-616)|Reed Richards]].
I have no issue with altering the link format so "Earth-616" is its own link to the universe designation (i.e. using the [[Reed Richards (Earth-616)|Reed Richards]] of [[Earth-616]].), but please keep the wording the same.
(By the way, if you want to write using wiki formatting but do not wish the format to take effect, you can write the text between the <nowiki> and </nowiki> tags)
Please, remember whenever you add new information to properly reference it every single time.
If your source is a comic, TV episode, movie, etc., you just need to put between {{r| and }} the issue/episode/movie in which the events you just described happened. Like this:
Tony Stark became Iron Man.{{r|Tales of Suspense Vol 1 39}}
If your source is a web site, refer to this page on how to cite web pages in articles.
Remember that having the information we display referenced is what makes us a reliable source of knowledge, so even though it wasn't always the policy here on the Marvel Database, it's now considered extremely important (see also Citing Sources).
