  • Long time no see. I miss contacting with you. How you been doing?

    • Uh, good, thanks. Just got back on because I forgot about it. I kind of actually lost interest in comics, and came back to edit because I was bored lol. Thanks for asking though, how about you?

    • I'm just chilling. I finished reading House of X (2019) comic book story event.

  • Hi!

Your replies on the admin forum have been removed because it is an admin-only forum.

That might sound restrictive, but it's actually to make the discussion clear enough between staff members.

Feel free to ask to the relevant admin regarding your contribution, and he will either transmit it or allow you to post there.

Thanks in advance, have a good day !

    • Oh, I apologize, I did't know it was one for admins. It just said 'Once, Twice, Three Times a Notification Thread', and though I did notice only admins we're talking, I didn't know it was only for admins.

Thanks, and you have a good day as well.

  • You have interrupted my edits by editing a page I've been work on for hours for at least three different cases. You know I am working on the 300 range of Incredible Hulk comics, so can you please stop going in and making changes on issues you know I'm going to be working on next.

I usually end up fixing your mistakes anyway, so can you just cut it out and find something else to work on?

    Thanks

    • If you're talking about your synopsis for Incredible Hulk #361, I had been adding a larger, more detailed synopsis first, then you edited it, and I lost my work too. I apologize for ruining your work, but I lost my work too. And, not all the mistakes are mine.

    • Well you know I'm working on this entire run of the series, I've been working on every issue for the past few weeks. So please stop.

Per the wiki's guidelines on proper ettiquet you have to wait until someone is done. It said give about 15-20 minutes, but you know, from witnessing my work that it sometimes takes me hours to complete an issue summary.

You know I've been working in the issue range in question.

So editing in that same range is a dick move.

Cut it out, or I will revoke your editing privileges for 48 hours.

In other words: Find something else other than Incredible Hulk Vol 1 to work on for now.

  • ... But if you are going to change APN tags on anything, please verify your source of information before you go in and change things. I am speaking specifically about your edits of Incredible Hulk #171 and 172 in which you put Marvel Team-Up #18 as happening between those two stories. First of all that doesn't fit in his chronology in a logical sense because the Hulk is captured and imprisoned between those two issues. Versus Marvel Team-Up #18 where the Hulk is roaming around free (which is true after the fact in Hulk #172 after he and the Juggernaut break out of Hulkbuster Base)

That still doesn't negate the fact that between Hulk #172 and 173 that the Hulk, chronologically, appears in Defenders #12 and Giant-Size Defenders #1 BEFORE he appears in Marvel Team-Up #18.

This is all outlined in www.chronologyproject.com/hulk.php which covers every chronological appearance of the Hulk from 1962 to late 2015. This is an official source as Marvel has hired the people who do the Chronology Project to do the last run of Official Marvel Indexes. As such, our policy is to accept the chronology listed there (within reason because even they make errors)

So please, please, please, if you are going to change any APN tags, do the research first and confirm that the information you are putting in is accurate.

    • The only reason I changed them this time, was that Marvel Team Up #18 said that those two issues were his previous and next appearances. Sorry.

        Loading editor
    • You sure? Because I'm looking at that story right now and I see no reference stating that in story.

Even then, you shouldn't rely on one single source of information, especially if it's a comic book that is over 40 years old. You should verify all the discernable facts. Whenever I am adding an APN tag I do four things:

      • I check what other comics feature that character that were published at that time so I have not only a general idea of what is going on from issue to issue, but in general during the course of that period of publication.
      • I check the most current Handbook and Indexes to see if there are any reference to the events I am trying to plot the appearances for so I can get an idea when events have played out.
      • Lastly, I refer to the Chronology Project, which 9 times out of 10 verifies all of my research.
      • In that 1 time out of 10 I use my best judgment based on all of the above.

This is especially important when you need to consider flashbacks and newer stories that revisit an earlier period of time. For someone as frequently used as the Hulk you have to do a little more than read a single comic and base their next appearances based on that.

It's a painstaking process and the only way you can do it properly is putting the hard work and researching it. If you don't have the resources or time to do it properly, or to update what's already there then leave it for someone who can.

    • No, I mean a user added a wrong APN, and I used that as my source. It was my fault, and I apologize.

  • I have verified all of those appearance lists as they appear on the Chronology Project. Stop changing them.

In fact, if you go back and roll back all those changes I would greatly appreciate it.

In the future, I'd appreciate it if you have a problem with my edits to bring it up with me before you go in and change them. Thanks.

    • Ok, sorry, I was just trying to help. Some of them din't look like they fit well. I wasn't aware you were using a Chronology Project. I apologize, thanks for bringing this to my attention. One again, I'm sorry.

  • Over the course of the past few days, you've been adding "apn" tags to the appearances of characters like Deadpool or Spider-Man, while making it clear you didn't even read some if not many of the comic pages you edited.

You seem to have ignored a previous message in your message wall, so I'll have to warn you to please stop with this way of editing, or we will be forced to block you from editing in this site.

    Thank you.

    • Yes, I saw those. First of all, let me apologize. I did read several of the issues I edited, but most of them, I just logically edit them by using the dates, and not putting guest-appearances in the middle of any big storylines. I think that is a useful tool, and I was just trying to help. Please don't be angry with me. I'm sorry for any inaccurate edits or inconveniences. In the future, I will only edit issues that I have read, or when I am absolutely certain of the character's next appearance, (i.e., Forbush-Man, Abraham Lincoln, Death's Head, Doctor Who etc.). Again, sorry, and thanks for the warning.
