  • Please, remember whenever you add new information to properly reference it every single time.

    If your source is a comic, TV episode, movie, etc., you just need to put between {{r| and }} the issue/episode/movie in which the events you just described happened. Like this:

    Tony Stark became Iron Man.{{r|Tales of Suspense Vol 1 39}}

    If your source is a web site, refer to this page on how to cite web pages in articles.

    Remember that having the information we display referenced is what makes us a reliable source of knowledge, so even though it wasn't always the policy here on the Marvel Database, it's now considered extremely important (see also Citing Sources).

    • Sorry about that. Should I do it even when there is one there already? How about if it covers more than paragraph? I noticed that sometime the same reference is at the end of a paragraph and then it does it again in the next, but in other times, it does it at the end of both paragraphs. I wasn't sure about it, especially when adding text for an event already there, just expanding on it.

    • If there's already a reference and you are just adding information on that same referenced paragraph or sentence, no, you don't need to do it.

      Regarding the placement of references, I personally if write two paragraphs with information taken from the same source, I only place the references at the end of the second paragraph.

      In essence, the way I see references it's like a veil that covers the words that come before it up until a preceding reference. The "veil" is not interrupted by line breaks, so it's not necessary to repeat references one consequent to the other.
