  • I know this was a while back, but when you had the Defenders and Defenders (Manhattan) pages merged, were you also arguing that Defenders (Earth-616) and Defenders (Manhattan) (Earth-616) be merged? It seems weird that the disambiguations were merged when the two teams are still considered separate teams. Or are we doing a Daily Bugle thing?

      Loading editor
    • The reason I did it that way was because 616 already had plenty of other variations of Defenders named with a parenthesis, as listed under "Others" on the Defenders page. However, other realities have the teams of the same name but with completely different histories and rosters named without any additional disclaimers, which is why I found having two disambiguation pages simply redundant. • Hey, since the reality numbering of Earth-2447 has been changed to Earth-19529 in Marvel canon, I wanted to let you know about this, after your recent work.

      Loading editor
  • Be careful whenever you're noting new reality designations that are just a small part of an issue that you always make a clear distinction between what part happens in the alternate reality and what part happens in the main reality, for example, the Earth-75612 events in Ghost Rider Vol 2 #12 only encompassed the three pages of von Reitberger's lie and not the bulk of the story, so it required the addition of those characters from the lie to the issue's appearance list and distinguishing in the locations that, other than the lie, the rest of the story occurs to the Prime Marvel Universe.

    • I admit I haven't read any of the Silver Age issues - I am just going through the Appendix and adding designations that are abscent from the wiki in the hopes that someone else can pick up from there. Since the main reality of the story isn't even listed for most of the older issues, adding a designation from Appendix isn't technically incorrect, as I am not replacing it.

        Loading editor
    • Don't be afraid to ask the community if the reason for the designation isn't exactly clear or for help via an issue's talk page in ensuring that things are properly listed, for example, the locations you nested under Earth-75826 in Power Man #26 are actually in Earth-616.

  • Hello. I have seen that you have been busy articles regarding Marvel 2099, which I like, it was time that these articles to be fixed. I wanted to know if Warda Wilson (Earth-TRN782) and the other characters should be in Earth-928. Since Earth-928 is supposed to be the 'future' of Earth-616, shouldn't Earth-TRN782 be the same as 928, as established in Despicable Deadpool Vol 1 300? Thank you.

      Loading editor
    • There are tons of different alternate futures, all of which are equally possible futures of Earth-616. Speaking of Marvel 2099 in particular, in recent years there's been quite a lot of different 2099's appearing in various books, most of them clearly contradicting one another. Hence the need for multiple separate TRNs for each version of 2099, as the official Handbooks and Appendix have been quite slow at giving them proper designations. Specifically, Warda's 2099 lacks such prominent features of Earth-928 as Nueva York (the city is still called New York), the Public Eye (there is regular NYPD instead) or any mentions of a cataclysm that ended the Heroic Age.

With no other previously established characters from any of the other 2099's appearing, it only makes sense to separate that reality for the time being. Of course, it is quite likely that the upcoming 2099 Alpha Vol 1 1 will introduce yet another retcon to 2099, but at the moment we're just trying to document existing stories as best we can.

    • Its OK for me, but I'm just afraid that the readers might get confused. Anyway thank you for informing me.

Edit: Also, I think those are continuity errors.

        Loading editor
    • Can you please explain as to why you've added a Merge tag regardless? Warda's timeline looks nothing like the mainstream 2099 of Earth-928.

        Loading editor
    • And where's the difference except for a few continuity errors?

  • Now I could be completely wrong Earth-14145 is probably going to be a lot of working moving all the right appearances and right characters to there respective pages. Its been a couple of years since I read the whole thing so I'm going to go back and see how it was resolved after Secret Wars. Regardless, I think we need to start some kind of job list tracking all the changes that have been/will be made. This should probably include:

    • Issues it affects
    • Issues from that time it either doesn't or likely doesn't
    • characters it affects
    • Characters it doesn't affect
    • Are any Flashbacks 616 relevent?
    • Any who may be in the middle
    • Events
    • Storylines/Story Arcs

We could create a specific sandbox Page for such a list and use to as a hosting ground for discussions and input as well

    Thoughts?

    • What I'm going to say is not a serious suggestion, unless it is, but considering Earth-14145 is a pandora box I think the best course of action would be to disregard this designation until we know 100% what does it entail. Doing this doesn't contradict with the original editorial intent of Time Runs Out either, so it doesn't hurt much. At the most, holding off only means postponing a load of work. Who knows if maybe we're jumping the gun and we'd have to correct whatever edits come out of this.

    • HBK123 wrote: Isn't it assumed that with every time-travel created reality all history before the divergence point carries over anyway? The comics can remain exactly as they are, with 14145 character pages simply noting that their lives were identical to 616 characters until the point in which the Multiverse was restored.

If the events now take place in Earth-14145 and not Earth-616, then the comics absolutely cannot remain as they are. If we take the retcon at face value, then everything in those issues will need to be recoded to that reality and descriptions of the events purged from 616-related histories unless explicitly confirmed to have also occurred in the Prime Marvel Universe's history in post-TRO issues.

I feel it would be best to move extremely slowly on this.

  • Hey, You may or may not have seen but I recently proposed promoting you to content moderator for all the work you've put in, especially with all the AU stuff and the rest of the Admod has agreed. The gist would be you would gain some extra powers to help keep things in order, mostly moving/renaming and deletion and have a say in Admod discussions. If you have any further questions just ask, you don't have to accept if you don't want to, so don't feel pressured too. Which ever way you pick please let me know

    Thanks

    • Is there anything to the process of moving pages besides manually fixing all redirects? Also, what's up with Category:Undecided Move and how is it different from the regular Move category? HBK123 (talk) 17:39, October 16, 2019 (UTC)

        Loading editor
    • No, you just click rename from the options then checking What Links here] for all the connections.

Undecided Move is where dated moves go that are less than 14 days old. After that they automatically go to the Move category

    • Congratulations on the promotion. I've updated everyone's common coding so that your edits will now appear in the color of a moderator, as well as created a redirect where File:User-HBK123.jpg can be uploaded if you'd like to have a custom image represent you on the Marvel Database:Administrators page.

In other news, as you've probably seen on various sidebars, we've our own Discord server where we coordinate various projects and would love for you to join us if interested. If you do create an account and join our server, just let any Admin on one of our channels there know and we'll give you moderator status so that you can be privy to the aforementioned discussions as well.

  • My apologies for locking every Wolverine: The Long Night page. As you may be aware, we're currently being hit by a very persistent vandal and because we can't simply block him due to his use of a VPN, our only option is to lock pages so he can't mess them up and hope he goes away. In fact, I'll have to close this thread so he doesn't spam it.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Hey, I wanted to suggest that if you have any more better versions of existing images in the site, I can offer you to delete the old version in advance so that you can upload the new ones with the original's file name. Just link me the images you want to supersede and I can take care of them.

  • Please don't move a page by copying the text to it's new destination (Kree Monolith to Di'Allas), page moves need to preserve edit history and thus should only be done by the AdMod team, in future please add:

    {{subst:Move|NEW NAME HERE}}

If there are anyothers you have manually moved yourself please let me know so we can fix this issue

    Thanks
