  • As stated in the subject, Pages with script errors is being populated by pages using the old disambiguation template (Template:Disambiguation)

  • Hi Harasar, there's an issue with the reprint field in Guardiani Della Galassia Vol 5 #2 with it only showing a broken code for one of the items; none of the rest; no vehicles or events being shown. Please can you fix it?

  • Based on a suggestion by KylaraE here, can I bother you to add some kind of field in the novel template for the date when a book was first published? Thank you in advance.

  • I'm not sure what has changed but 4,000 pages have appeared on Category:Pages with script errors and it seems to be related to the reprint functionality

  • I believe the Template:Number to Name pages should continue being updated since not every disambiguation page utilizes DisambiguationFull. Pages like Spider-Man, where the main version has its own page, Iron Man 2020, where the main version shares their name with the the main of another page, and Goblin, which solely uses New Header. Since pages such as these use the Disambiguation template, Module:Disambiguation/Realities doesn't affect them. Or is there a DisambiguationFull solution that has yet to be implemented that I have missed?

    • Number to name Template uses Module:Disambiguation/Realities, not the subpages. Just look at "what links here", apart from talk pages these subpages are not used anywhere.

  • Hey, with the current removal of killed by, could I get a couple of favors

Firstly, could you remove the coding from the character template that shows the "Characters killed by X" underneath the character gallery.

Secondly, while going through the removal of these categories I've been trying to come up with an easy to use alternate. Would it be possible to add a "|Cause of Death = " field to the character template, that could be filled out with either a person (Category:Characters Killed by James Howlett (Earth-XXXX), event (Category:Characters Killed during Secret Invasion) or other causes such as (Category:Characters who committed Suicide, Category:Characters who sacrificed themselves etc) that generates the relevant category

    • So, does anyone have any other questions, or this update can be implemented in the main Comics Template?

  • Hey Harasar! I am just trying to barely dip my toes into some MediaWiki coding, although it is slow-going and quickly confusing because neither FANDOM nor MediaWiki itself have any tutorials that I can find on how to use their libraries.

Anyway, I just had a quick question about a basic concept: Here is my starting code. When I just have an event that uses mw.hook().add(), it is supposed to "Register a hook handler" according to the documentation (in this case, it is registering a handler to the 'wikipage.content' event). I would not expect this handler to actually fire when the Event occurs, because I have not added an mw.hook().fire() line. Yet in reality when I check the console, the event fires twice: (see picture).

Even more strangely, when I do add the mw.hook().fire() method (so that my code looks like this), it causes the mw.hook().add() event to only fire once! And the handler inside the mw.hook().fire() event doesn't fire at all.

So why is this? What is the purpose of mw.hook().fire() if the .add() method already fires its handler on the event occurrence?

If you can explain the Media Wiki stuff in simple term for me, that would be great because even though I have tons of experience with JS and Lua, I have never used the MediaWiki libraries before now :) Thanks for your time!

  • Hi Harasar, please (if necessary) could you somehow get the spoiler warning off this page, since it's a cancelled comic. (Should it be on?) It's fine if you can't.

  • Hi Harasar,

I've noticed a problem with the reprint section of the comic template. Some of the comics have half of comics reprinted (1st 10 pages of Avengers Vol 8 #9 is reprinted in Avengers Universe (UK) Vol 4 #2 and the next 10 pages in the following issue; first 10 pages of Amazing Spider-Man #67 reprinted in Amazing Spider-Man Vol 5 #32 and next 10 pages in the following issue).

Apart from sticking with the full issue or adding now A template, would there be a way to add a certain number of pages into it?

    (e.g.

    | ReprintPages = 10

    or something like that?)

    • I think you can also bring it up in the main thread about reprints here - Thread:1247246.

    • Ah yes, good point. I forgot about that thread, since I hadn't replied to it for a while because you fixed the problems.

  • (moving this thread here)

I just wanted to check in on how the new mobile disambiguation pages are coming along. I know you've got a lot on your plate, so no rush, I was just curious what the state of things currently look like. I noticed that there have been some changes to it that are already looking better (see: screenshot), though I guess I don't know if those were specifically you or the effects of FANDOM's new MediaWiki revamp.

Excited to see these pages look good across all platforms!

    • It wasn't me. After FANDOM promised help, no one ever contacted me, so the work hadn't even started. Perhaps they decided to do something themselves, or it is indeed just a side-effect of MediaWiki's revamp.
