2) Once the image is uploaded, please don't forget licensing.
If you uploaded it through the Special:Upload function, make use of the "Licensing (Required)" dropdown feature before clicking "Upload File," and choose the apropriate type of licensing. "A single panel of a character," "A regular comic book cover" and "Movie screenshot" are some of the most common options.
If you uploaded it through the "Add a photo to this gallery" function on the bottom of galleries, or you didn't select any licensing option in the dropdown feature of Special:Upload, you'll have to add the licensing manually. Go to the uploaded image and click "Edit," you'll see two rows of buttons to insert templates or format functions. Click on the button that has a single polaroid photograph on it (found in the bottom row), and the template will be added. Be sure to fill in the "License" field with the respective license. Most common licenses are "Comic Single Panel," "Comic Cover," "TV Screenshot" and "Movie Screenshot." If the licensing you added is not valid, the image will still appear as unlicensed.
3) Whether the image template with licensing has been added automatically or has been inserted manually on the image, please be sure to fill in the respective fields there are, including "Source," "Universe," "Subject#," etc. to help sort it out.
I've seen you added Leonine and Microbe to the Excalibur and Marauders respective issues they supposedly appear, do you have any source for those additions? because either panel that I'm assuming you are identifying the characters in, they don't really look like said characters, so I'm asking if maybe you asked the artist? I did for Imp last time someone randomly added him to an issue, and the artist told me it was a random mutant not him. I asked about Microbe and Eosimias(since I added this one myself) and the artist didn't' get back to me, did you ask someone and they have you an answer?
Oh, wow. I never even thought to ask the artists. I’m gonna be completely honest, I was just going on physical appearances alone. I may have been stretching it with Microbe but the giant lion-y figure in Excalibur #1 stuck out to me as Leonine, but I forgot the character’s name and only recently got around to finding it.
Well I'm all for identifying as much as we can, but it looks like the artist are just drawing random things, Z listers like Leonine are probably at the bottom of the pile of characters the artists probably know, the guy I'm assuming you are identifying as Leonine doesn't really have a lion face in the issue though, he has big hair and a huge body, but the mouth and eyes seem human. As I said I even identified Eosimias myself, but I'm not sure either, it might just look the same by coincidence.
I would love if they actually used mostly known characters (like the X-Force/Excalibur artists are doing) instead of creating a bunch of randoms constantly, but we can't just assume everyone that slightly resembles someone is that Z lister (which as a person that loves obscure characters I would love that to be the case), seems most artists just like to spam Anole, Glob, Pixie, Rockslide and randoms as background characters.
Anyway I've asked the artists and editors myself a few times about those characters (well Leonine I did it for the first time), if I don't get an answer I'm probably removing at least Microbe appearance.
Please don't change the picture to something that doesn't fit the character anymore, he will show up in the newest series, right now that X-Men Gold fits what he looks like, so is the one that should be used.
He already showed up in House of X #6 and today’s X-Force #2 with his spiked arm. If it doesn’t fit the character then shouldn’t we change his “unusual features”? JDW has already said that his arm being normal is an artist error.
I don't mean just the arm, I mean he is older now because of the Omega World stuff, he looks like his young self there, when we get a picture of him with the arm fixed we will post it, no need to rush and put an outdated picture just to reflect that.
Oh, I didn’t know it was outdated. That was from a recent variant and since the Omega World developments have been ignored (with his dragon body), I figured it was fair game. Can I have the content back on the page if the picture can’t be changed?
I chalk it up to Extraordinary X-Men not necessarily getting referenced all that often. But it’s a variant from an Age of X-Man book (one of the more recent things I’ve seen that actually had Anole with his spiky arm). Yeah you’re right, it seems like artists are back to drawing him super young.
Yeah just went through the trouble of checking 4 different books and they have been messing up his arm for a while, well hopefully we get a good picture of him from X-Force today, I saw the preview picture and its just him in a big crowd.
Whew it’s been rough for an Anole fan, especially with his arm being a sign of a big development for him. But I’m trusting that Brisson’s Nee Mutants will give us a good glimpse of Anole that isn’t just a cameo shot.
Yeah seems New Mutants will deal with the younger mutants, the first arc seems to be split with Hickman so he can tell his Cannonball story, but then its just Brisson and it seems he will focus on other younger mutants, not just the New Mutants.
