Overview[]
The Mexican–American War was an armed conflict between the United States of America and Mexico from 1846 to 1848.[1]
Events[]
It followed in the wake of the 1845 American annexation of the Republic of Texas, which Mexico still considered part of it's territory after its de facto secession in the 1836.
Frontier explorer Billy Buckskin was active during the days of the American-Mexican War. The young adventurer primarily fought Mexican soldiers, outlaws, and Native American renegades around Fort Ironsides, primarily the warrior known as Nocona who was responsible for murdering his father.[2] The next oldest was Dan Hawk whose father died during the Battle of the Alamo while he was still a young man. Growing up to adulthood he became known as the Kid From Texas and operated as a honorary Texas Ranger helping those in need.[3]
