History

Lt. Michael Lynch's life changed the evening he came to the rescue of female daredevil Sharon Ventura when she was being attacked by a gang of thugs while on her way to undergo strength enhancement from the Power Broker. After helping her he went about his evening warning her to keep out of trouble. Lynch find his own trouble when the gang attacked him later in the night for revenge. He was saved by Sharon's friend the Thing who was seeking to stop her from undergoing the Power Broker's process. He was too late, as Sharon was exposed to the treatment by the Broker's chief scientist Dr. Karl Malus. But before Malus could get her addicted to the drugs that the Broker used to keep his other customers under his control, Sharon broke free. Escaping the Power Broker's facility she was attacked by drug addicted members of the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation. The Thing bought Sharon and Michael time to escape. They went back to the hotel where Sharon tried to warn Auntie Freeze, the manager of the Grapplers, a female wrestling team that Ventura was trying to join. Thinking that Sharon underwent the full process and was now addicted to drugs, Freeze gave her a new costume to wear. Upon seeing Sharon in costume, Lynch mentioned how it reminded him of the original Ms. Marvel, giving Sharon her costumed name. The pair were growing attracted to each other and were about to kiss when Auntie Freeze and the Grapplers tried to attack them. They were rescued by the Thing, who helped them escape.

Lynch accompanied the Thing and Ms. Marvel when they tried to go back to the Power Broker's hideout only to find that the villain had closed up shop and disappeared. The trio were then attacked by UCWF wrestlers but the fight quickly ended when the Thing's mutation began to become unstable. Ms. Marvel then rushed the Thing to the hospital for treatment.
