The commanding officer at Christmastown, an American radar station positioned in the Canadian Arctic, Colonel Michael Malone was present when Patricia Robertson arrived from visiting the Ararat Corporation research facility, informing him that all the researchers present had been killed except one, Perry. Unbeknownst to any of them, the facility had created a ravenous clone of the Venom symbiote, which had bonded to Ivan, one of the base's sled dogs. The symbiote detached from Ivan and bonded to Malone, taking over him and hunting the other soldiers in the Christmastown while impersonating him in order to avoid suspicion. The symbiote quickly drained Malone's vitality and killed him, but used his body as a puppet until it was attacked by the Suit. It discarded Malone's corpse and used it as a decoy to distract the Suit.
